The Supreme Public Prosecution, together with other competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia, actively participates in the process of joining the European Union, i.e. in the implementation of measures from the Action Plan for Chapter 7 "Intellectual Property", the Action Plan for Chapter 23 "Judiciary and Fundamental Rights" and the Action Plan for Chapter 24 "Justice, Freedom and Security", pursuing close cooperation with the institutions of the European Union - the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of Serbia and the European Commission in this process.
The Supreme Public Prosecution participates in monitoring the implementation and implementation of the revised Action Plan for Chapter 24 "Justice, Freedom and Security", especially the sub-chapters "Fight against organized crime", and "Judicial cooperation in civil, commercial and criminal matters", in the part related to judicial cooperation in criminal matters.
With regard to Chapter 23 "Judiciary and Fundamental Rights", the Supreme Public Prosecution implements the activities stipulated by the revised Action Plan for Chapter 23 and reports on its implementation by the Public Prosecution, in close cooperation with the Council for the Implementation of the Action Plan for Chapter 23. Regarding the implementation of the interim benchmarks of the European Commission for Chapter 23, sub-chapter "Fight against corruption", the Supreme Public Prosecution created a "track record" table on the actions of public prosecution offices in criminal offenses with a corruption element, the criminal offense of failure to declare assets or providing false data on assets prescribed by the Law on Agency for the prevention of corruption, committed by public officials, judges and public prosecutors, financing of political activities, conflict of interest, as well as criminal acts committed to the detriment of journalists, in accordance with the methodology prescribed by the European Commission. Also, the Supreme Public Prosecution has prepared an additional "track record" table in the field of the fight against corruption, which includes data on the actions of the Special Departments for the Suppression of Corruption established in the Higher Public Prosecution Offices in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kraljevo, as well as data from the Public Prosecution Offices of general jurisdiction.
The Supreme Public Prosecution continues its work with the aim of closing Chapter 7 "Intellectual Property", i.e. it reports on the actions of public prosecution offices regarding criminal offenses against intellectual property, in accordance with the new methodology prescribed by the European Commission.
The Supreme Public Prosecution also prepares quarterly reports on the implementation of the activities prescribed by the National Program for the Adoption of the Acquis of the European Union (NPAA) for Chapters 7, 23 and 24. The representative of the Supreme Public Prosecution continues to work on monitoring and reporting on the progress in the implementation of the planned measures and activities foreseen by the National Program for the Adoption of the European Union Acquis (NPAA) for the sub-chapter "Fight against organized crime" of Chapter 24 "Justice, freedom and security", in respect of establishing or strengthening institutional structure and administrative capacities.
In addition to the above, the Supreme Public Prosecution actively participates in the meetings with representatives of the European Union in the process of the accession to the European Union, as well as in the preparation of the reports for the aforementioned meetings and the contributions to the Annual Report of the European Commission on the Republic of Serbia.
The Department for International Cooperation and Legal Assistance of the Supreme Public Prosecution also actively participates in the programming and implementation of EU projects related to public prosecution, including the IPA 2015 project "Procurement of IT equipment and software for case management in public prosecutions", the IPA 2017 project "Support to prosecutorial system", IPA 2020 project "Technical support for fight against organized crime, financial investigations and cybercrime”, Flexible Facility for Chapter 24 and Flexible Facility for Chapter 23.
