The Supreme Public Prosecution has long-standing successful cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, with H.E. Ambassador, as well as with the U.S. Department of Justice - OPDAT program (Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training Program) and ICITAP program (International Criminal Investigations Training and Assistance Program). Within this long-term cooperation, the Supreme Public Prosecution, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, held several meetings with the highest representatives of the U.S. Department of Justice, including the U.S. Attorney General, as well as with representatives of the U.S. State Department in charge of the rule of law and justice development assistance programs (INL - International Narcotics Law Enforcement). Throughout this cooperation, the Supreme Public Prosecution was recognized by colleagues from the U.S. Administration as a reliable partner and an example in the region in the fight against organized crime and corruption.


In addition to strategic support and cooperation in the fight against transnational crime, the cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade and representatives of the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as the representatives of the INL program of the State Department and USAID in Belgrade, also takes place in the form of implementing projects of priority importance for strengthening capacities of the public prosecution, such as professional training of public prosecutors for the Criminal Procedure Code implementation, proactive financial investigations, the fight against corruption, money laundering, tax fraud and economic crime, the fight against high-tech crime, trafficking inhuman beings, narcotics and weapons, as well as in the field of digital evidence, cryptocurrencies, asset forfeiture, financial forensics, public procurement fraud, task forces, etc.


Finally, the cooperation with the U.S. Embassy also takes place through the organization of study visits, which represents a valuable opportunity for the representatives of the Public Prosecution of the Republic of Serbia to acquaint with work methodology and exchange experiences with their colleagues in the U.S.
