The Prosecutor General, Zagorka Dolovac, opened today the conference on the presentation of Eurojust to the Public Prosecution of Serbia, together with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Miroslav Panić, the President of Eurojust, Ladislav Hamran, and the Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia, Emanuel Giofre.

Speaking about the importance of international cooperation and support of Eurojust to the Public Prosecution of Serbia in individual criminal cases, Zagorka Dolovac emphasized the importance of partnership with Eurojust in the fight against organized and other serious crime, thanks to which notable results are achieved, greater than those that would be achieved individually in each country, since by joint action international organized criminal groups are being suppressed, not only their local members.

At the conference where the chief public prosecutors from all the public prosecution offices of Serbia were addressed by prominent foreign and domestic speakers, the work and support of Eurojust and its project in the Western Balkans were presented, which further strengthens and reinforces the excellent international cooperation that the Public Prosecution of Serbia has with this important agency for judicial cooperation of the European Union.

On this occasion, Zagorka Dolovac held a bilateral meeting with the President of Eurojust, Ladislav Hamran, emphasizing the commitment of the Supreme Public Prosecution Office to the cooperation with Eurojust, at which it was noted that according to the results, Serbia continues to be at the very top of the non-EU member states with which Eurojust achieves the greatest cooperation and that today's conference will contribute to the strengthening of international prosecutorial cooperation in Europe and especially in the Western Balkans region.

The Prosecutor General of Serbia, Zagorka Dolovac, together with the President of the High Council of Prosecutors, Branko Stamenković and acting Chief Public Prosecutor of the Public Prosecution Office for War Crimes, Dušan Knežević, also held a bilateral meeting with the Supreme State Prosecutor of Montenegro, Milorad Marković, at which mutual readiness was expressed for further continuation and improvement of cooperation, especially in the area of support for witnesses and victims, and the consent of intent was expressed to sign a Memorandum on cooperation in the area of support for victims and witnesses in war crimes proceedings.
